Cheek Shades
Behind the Cause
Chantecaille has proudly reissued six of our most celebrated Cheek Shades as a permanent philanthropy collection. A spectrum of flattering hues that range from the palest pink to vibrant coral, each shade is embossed with the conservation effort it supports—from Monarch butterflies to wild horses—nestled in our signature refillable Pebble Compact. We are proud to give back to six non-profits supporting the conservation of these threatened wild species.
Butterfly | Bliss
Monarch butterflies have landed on the endangered species list due to global warming, logging, deforestation and lack of food along their migration paths. The Monarch Butterfly Fund conserves North American monarchs and their migration through habitat restoration, research, monitoring, education, and support for sustainable community development in and around Monarch habitats in Mexico.
Elephant | Smitten
Every 25 minutes an elephant is killed, and today up to 38,000 elephants are poached annually for their tusks. Working across Kenya, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust projects include anti-poaching efforts, safeguarding the natural environment, raising community awareness, providing veterinary service to animals in need, and rescuing and hand-rearing elephant and rhino orphans and other species that can someday enjoy a quality of life in the wild.
Wild Horse | Joy
Wild horses need land to roam free—by conserving parkland for wild horses, we not only help save the herds, we also ensure that the land remains preserved for future human generations. The American Wild Horse Campaign protects America’s wild horses and burros by stopping the federal government’s systematic elimination of these national icons from our public lands.
Bee | Emotion
Bees pollinate the flowers and trees that feed us. They are in danger of extinction due to the overuse of chemical pesticides and monoculture planting practices that have eliminated wildflowers and plants they rely on to survive. The Xerces Society woks to help invertebrates including bees survive with strategies like tracking numbers and locations, education, and legislative protection.
Coral | Laughter
Today three-quarters of the world’s coral reefs are at risk due to unsustainable and illegal fishing, global warming and pollution. The Marine Conservation Institute aims to protect 10% of the world’s oceans by 2020 and is dedicated to securing permanent, strong protection for the oceans’ key places through building a worldwide system of marine protected areas, as well as scientific research and advocacy.
Sea Turtle | Grace
Sea turtles define all that is ancient and magical about our blue planet, but these creatures are struggling for survival. WIDECAST (“Wider Caribbean Sea Turtle Conservation Network”) is comprised of volunteer experts, scientists, conservationists, educators, and policy-makers working to save endangered sea turtles across 33 Latin American and Caribbean countries, and to support a healthy regional ecosystem and economic prosperity for its people.
