Metallic Magic: Emily Blunt
At this year’s Met Gala, makeup artist Jenn Streicher used Chantecaille to create a sparkling celestial look for Emily Blunt. Glowing skin and impeccably detailed, metallic eyes were the focus for Jenn. Below, she shares her step-by-step breakdown on how to re-create this fantastical look.
“I was very inspired by an old Hollywood image I saw of Ziegfeld Girl Hedy Lamarr—Emily’s Prada dress was one of her most daring, so we wanted to keep her makeup understated but still fun… and really beautiful.”
Skin
1. ”The first thing I did when I saw Emily today was put Gold Energizing Eye Recovery Masks on her! I left those on while she had her hair blown out.”
2. ”After that, I used Bio Lifting Serum+ and massaged and lifted the face with the Advanced Bio Lifting+ Massage Tool, which is one of my favorite products from Chantecaille—I personally use it every day.”
3. Jenn followed with Bio Lifting Cream+ moisturizer and Nano Gold Energizing Eye Serum.

Face
1. ”I used Liquid Lumière in Brilliance on Emily’s clean skin—I applied across the entire face before her foundation to create a glow-from-within effect.”
2. ”Philanthropy Cheek Shade in Butterfly Bliss was applied right on the apples of her cheeks, followed by Éclat Brillant Highlighter, which I dusted all over her face but really concentrated on the upper cheekbones.”
3. ”Perfect Blur Finishing Powder was used on the forehead and nose, and all around her T-Zone. I gave Emily her own Perfect Blur to put in her bag for the red carpet.”

Eyes
1. ”I applied Luminescent Eye Shades in Rhinoceros by wetting the Shade and Sweep Brush just a little bit and used that shade all over the lid. I then took Luminescent Eye Shade in Pangolin, a dusty lilac color, and pushed that into the crease. Then, I used the Lion shade with a very small dampened brush and did the inner corners and the lower lash line with that color.”
2. ”I also used Les Perles Metallic Eye Liner in Argent on her lid, and pressed it into her lashline.”
3. ”To finish Emily’s eyes, I used three coats of Faux Cils Longest Lash Mascara.”
Lips
”And on the lips, Le Matte Stylo in Snapdragon.”
